Heavy Horse Section

We are pleased to be able to announce that a Heavy Horse section is being included in this years’ Llandyfaelog Show, having received very generous sponsorship from Mr Huw Murphy from Dyfed Shire Horse Farm. Please would you share these details via your Social Media, as we would like to have as many entries as possible, if this section is to continue in subsequent years. Judging for this section will be in ring 4 not before 12pm. Classes will be as followed:-

HH 1 Best Shire Brood Mare with Foal at foot 1st £30, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £7 HH2 Best Shire Colt or Filly Foal 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £5 HH3 Best Shire Yearling 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £5 HH4 Best Shire Barren Mare, Filly or Gelding 3 years old or over 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £5 HH5 Best Shire 2 year old 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £5 HH6 Best Heavy horse 3 years old or over 1st £15, 2nd £10, 3rd £5; Entry £5

BIOSECURITY POLICY FOR OUR SHOW
?? We STRONGLY recommend that your horse or pony is fully vaccinated against equine influenza
?? Please be vigilant and DO NOT attend the show if any of your horses or ponies, and this includes any you have at home, present with following symptoms :-
❌HIGH TEMPERATURE
❌ COUGH
❌ NASAL DISCHARGE
❌ ENLARGED GLANDS
❌ CONJUNCTIVITIS
❌ DEPRESSION
❌ LOSS OF APPETITE
❌ FILLING OF THE LOWER LIMBS

?? If your horse or pony has recently been vaccinated pleaae make sure you allow 7 days after the last jab before the competition
?? Please act responsibly and DO NOT allow horses or ponies to touch each other. DO NOT share buckets , grooming kits, tack etc and DO NOT allow your animals tp graze on the showground
?? Remember that not only are you responsible for the health and wellbeing of your own exhibit, YOU HAVE A DUTY OF CARE towards your fellow competitors
?? ANY horse or pony showing any signs of ill health will be sent home IMMEDIATELY

Reminder all horse entries must be submitted to the secretary by Wednesday 14th August. Entries taken on the day will be at double the entry fee, except classes 73,74,118 and 119. ??

Message from Show Chairman

I would like to thank everybody for your support and presence at our 2018 show at our new venue at Pembrey Country Park. It was a pleasure to see such high standard of competition in all areas, together with the variety of stall holders and stands. Annual Show dinner

Annual Show dinner is fast approaching this coming Friday 7:30pm at the Baltic Ponthenri. If you have not yet given your names to me please do so asap. I also need to know what your food choices are by tomorrow. The choices are leek and potato soup or pate for starter and for dessert vanilla cheesecake or profiteroles. Also if anyone has any special dietary requirements please let me know. Llinos
